HESPERIA, San Bernardino County — November 4, 2026. In addition to municipal races, voters in three Hesperia Unified School District trustee areas are selecting members of the governing board. The contests are independent: an Area 2 resident does not necessarily vote for the Area 3 or Area 5 candidates.

Area 2: Steen leads

In the county Registrar’s 2 a.m. unofficial report, Christian B. Steen has 1,061 votes (39.05%), Genevieve Johnston 833 (30.66%) and Thomas Joseph Kerman 821 (30.22%). Only 20 of 34 precincts were marked as reporting. Johnston and Kerman are separated by 12 votes for second place; Steen is the leading candidate for the single trustee position.

Areas 3 and 5

In Area 3, Eric Swanson has 1,142 (53.34%) and Caitlin Jones 994 (46.43%), with four of four precincts reported. In Area 5, Mark Dundon has 1,858 (56.32%) and Francis “Fran” Herdlein 1,438 (43.59%), with 15 of 35 precincts reported.

No certified outcomes yet

Voting precincts marked reported do not necessarily include all valid mail, provisional or cured ballots. The San Bernardino County elections office will continue its canvass. School trustee elections should not be confused with the municipal City Council races.
